Photo trip to Syzran
Today I want to invite you to a photo tour around the ancient Russian city of Syzran.
The year of Foundation of the city of Syzran is considered to 1683, when this place was built a fortress, Syzran. The main objective of this fortress was to guard the trade routes on the Volga. Officially, however, the city status was granted in 1769. 11 years later, in 1780, Empress Catherine 2 gave the town its own coat of arms with the picture of a yellow background with a black bull, for success in trade in grain and cattle.
Syzran is located on the right Bank of the Volga river, 137 km from Samara downstream. The city stretches along the river for 30 miles. To have survived very few ancient buildings, which are now recognized as historical monuments. The main attraction is the Syzran Kremlin and Spasskaya tower of stone with a height of 27 m, where the Museum of Syzran Kremlin. Also worth mentioning is the Church of the Nativity (1717) and drama theatre named after Alexey Tolstoy. On the opposite Bank of the river is the Church of the ascension 1738. The city has preserved several of the old merchant mansions of wood that amaze tourists with its beautiful carvings.
Syzran photo where you see this article, called the «tomato capital» and the symbol of the city is recognized as a tomato. It happened due to the fact that this city has long been the largest supplier of tomatoes.
Today Syzran is a large industrial city with developed chemical and petrochemical industry.
