Why do we work?
Most of us grew up in a family with two parents who both worked full time — if full-time employment means 40 hours per week. Work is such an interesting concept that has not been questioned or reconsidered since the invention of currency. We work because we are told to do it. We are taught to learn, to work.
We pay large sums of money to universities to get their stamp — seal of approval: «ready to join the workforce.» In every country, in every culture, in every society, all over the world people are working. But they work for the right reasons? The truth is that we don’t have to work. In fact, we only need necessary for survival at least. However, we live in a world where we need to be able to pay a living wage. And this minimum is different in different parts of the world. In some parts there is no need for money, easy trade and labor enough to survive. You can work on the farm, raise the animals, grow vegetables and fruits, to satisfy their needs. And by the way, the exchange system does still exist in some parts of the world.
In most modern civilizations, we no longer work to meet our needs. We’re trying to move to a higher needs that go beyond survival. We work to improve our lives and make ourselves happier. While many people still working to pay for the most basic needs, a number of people (although a minority in the world) are working to make their lives more comfortable, not only for the sake of survival.
In most cases, we believe that the best work is that which brings the most revenue. We now live in a society where material goods are valued in many instances higher than human life itself. People work their entire lives to accumulate and save money, so that they can one day retire and begin to live your life. Have you ever heard anything so stupid in your life? Hell need to work for 50-60 years just to to live, we hope, another 20 years!
But there is still good reason why we work — achieving any goal. If you want something in this life, you have to make efforts to achieve the goal. One day, having satisfied our basic needs: food, water, shelter, safety, companionship, we turn to our exclusively psychological needs. The life of the average person is split to life while working and personal life. Working and we pull the strap, in order that we can enjoy our personal life, which comes after we spend hours working.
It would be good to do work that would not be evident in the same sense, when we pull the strap. How to make, doing a job, you wouldn’t have to separate it from personal life, but she was a nice addition to it? What you need to do your work for you was interesting and was a new Outlook on life that she had for you as an outlet, not just some everyday action that you need to perform day-to-day to raise money? Our life is shorter than we realize and we spend a significant part of it at work.
And if no work anywhere, it should be up to you. Work should be something you want to do, not what he has. Of course, the selection is not great, but you should still try to apply for a job that fills your life, not the one that pulls the life out of you. No money will be for you to enjoy, if you do not have time to spend it. You can’t enjoy a vacation if you think that at the end you’ll have for a year and will plow like a curse for one month of vacation in not necessarily expensive resort. And if you live work, only the one that you like. Otherwise, why such a life?
