Three useful Chinese wisdom
If you studied philosophy, you probably came to the conclusion that the brightest and most intelligent people with very good intuition who ever lived died thousands of years ago. Thus, thinking people who lived in the era of BC — not all, but some — often superior to modern thinkers.
It’s not depressing modern philosophers — they are already suppressed by society, which considers philosophy redundant. In fact, when applied correctly, philosophy is usedongreater value than any other science. Take for example the teachings of two Chinese philosophers Confucius and Mencius — the founding fathers of Confucianism. Despite the fact that their wise ideas thousands of years, if applied in our day, we can change the prospects of the world in which we live.
1. Small actions often have large consequences
Many of us tend to focus on the most important things in life. We believe that the more the better. Chinese philosophy teaches us differently. The little things actually matter most in our lives. In the smallest of details or actions can be a ripple effect that can change the world.
While we can’t understand it, lower of events do us much hurt. The effects can seem small, even imperceptible, but they have a strong influence on how we interact with the world around us.
Everything that surrounds us, and our interactions with other people affect our mood and perspective. If we are surrounded by smiles and laughter all day, it’s hard to be sad or angry. If we find ourselves surrounded by hatred and malice, and our Outlook on life changes not for the better. Our mood, in turn, has a huge effect on our actions.
2. Decisions must be made heart
Today we do not attach much importance to heart, taking some decisions. We came to the conclusion that the heart is nothing like the organ that pumps blood, while the mind contains all our thoughts and emotions. However, this does not mean that Chinese wisdom is wrong. The best way to see this is to consider the heart part of our mind — the part that allows us to experience emotions.
The truth is that, though we may try to be completely logical, we are emotional creatures You can separate yourself from your emotions to a certain extent, but our actions and decisions are always based on the emotions we are experiencing. Our emotions are a natural system that tells us what may be right or wrong for us. Emotions allow you to «anticipate» how to act in a given situation — especially if we have to make a decision without thinking.
Thinking requires time. However, many solutions are not planned, and spontaneous. For this reason, we can never fully detach themselves from their emotions. Occasionally and deliberate decisions not bring the desired results, while decisions prompted by «gut» or heart, are the most faithful.
3. Let the body take the mind, and the mind will follow
Dualism or not, but the mind and body do interact. The body affects the mind, and the mind on the body. Undoubtedly, the body and physical activity regulates the synthesis of different chemicals in our brain. But in this Chinese wisdom is something more than just anatomy. Our physical actions, exercises, work can be difficult. Our mind often gets in the way to action.
We know what we need to do to get from point a to point B, but… we’re too lazy. We find reasons not to act. We create the causes for stagnation and ultimately are unhappy because we never achieved what he wanted and needed to achieve. Confucius and other Chinese philosophers teach us that forcing our bodies to action, in turn, will change our perspective.
Ignoring our laziness, we can ReWire our thinking and how we see the world. The best way to create change is the regular repetition of the action, regardless of whether you want it or not our minds to recognize the fact.
