Humidity must be maintained at a high level. At the onset of dormancy, stop watering. Periodically, the plants are sprayed.
With the beginning of active growth in the spring, the plant should be fertilized every second watering. During flowering watering each time you add fertilizer.
Transplantation and propagation
The kalanta are propagated by dividing the tubers with a small appendage. They are planted, not buried, the ground sheet with a high content of peat.
To transplant the plant should be every 3 years or as needed if the roots become crowded in the pot.
May also seed propagation. They germinated on nutrient media under sterile conditions. Grown from seed specimens bloom for 4-5 years after sowing.
Pests and fight with them
The plant can suffer from aphids and spider mites. Aphid – a small insect that sits in large colonies on leaves and roots of plants.
Pests cause deformation of the ends of the shoots, and wilting of the leaves. Good effect against these insects make drugs «Decis» and «Karate».
Spider mites – insects yellow-green and red colors. They bite leaves and suck out the juice. Multiply rapidly.
They can’t stand UV light and hide on the inner side of the sheet. Against ticks is a very effective drug «Fitoverm».
