Fern mnogoletnik — care tips
Location and lighting
Mnogoletnik preferably grow in areas with high humidity, when protected from sunlight and wind. Forest species easily survive on moderately moist territories, fertile garden soil.
Care hastate and roots of the fern species is much more difficult than for forest species. As the substrate suitable large stones, between which shall be the minimum amount of soil. This creates a perfect drainage. Hastate species survives even in a pile of bricks.
Mnogoletnik grown indoors with moderate temperature (20°C), in winter the temperature should be in the range of 10-12°C.
Watering and humidity
Hygrophilous and responsive in good light, the plant in the warm season requires abundant watering regular, daily spraying in hot weather.
For irrigation use at a distance preferably rainwater. In the winter months, reduce watering to a minimum, and the plant transferred to a room with lower temperature.
It is desirable that in this cell there was no sudden temperature changes and drafts, which are very harmful to the bushes of fern mnogorjadnaja.
As top dressing applies a comprehensive liquid fertilizer. Feeding of mnogorjadnaja held monthly, except winter.
Transplantation and propagation
Fern mnogoletnik do not need to frequently change enough every few years to replant the flower pot of a larger size. When transplanting shrubs heavily overgrown parts, remove dead roots.
Reproduction of plants occurs in several ways: by dividing rhizomes, and spores. For reproduction of the first method is suitable spring and late summer. Many varieties appear brood buds on the leaves, some roots of the kidneys.
Pests of mnogorjadnaja and fight with them
The main danger to plants are mealybugs, scale insects, whiteflies and thrips (both regular and decorative).
Earthen coma waterlogging leads to root rot, and excessive dryness to the yellowing and leaf death.
