Bergeranthus — care at home
A perennial plant native to southern Africa.
The flowers resemble a dandelion.
In nature, found 12 species of plants but only two species are domesticated: «Bergeranthus mnogogolovy» «strelchenya«.
The name of the flower was named after Alvina Berger – German botanist, studying cacti and succulents.
Succulents – plants that have the ability to store water in leaves and stems, which helps them to survive droughts.
Bergeranthus belong to this group of plants – it stores water in its fleshy leaves. It is a stemless plant. It forms a turf.
Leaves triangular, succulent, fleshy, to 10 cm long, form a rosette. Flowers yellow, on long peduncle. «Bergeranthus mnogogolovkovym» they are 3 cm in diameter, and «bergeranthus Strelchenko» – 5 cm Flowering in early summer.
Location and lighting
