Argyroderma — care at home
Argyroderma aikoina belongs to the family of dwarf succulents. This amazing plant from the group of «living stones».
The peculiarity of this type in an unusual form of the leaves resembling a boiled egg, cut in half.
The leaves are succulent, fleshy, color from bluish-green to silver-green.

It will occupy little space and delight the first flowers after only 2 years after planting.
Soil the plant prefers slightly acid, consisting of 1 part leaf soil, sand, and 0.5 parts of sod land.
The space between the sheets should be filled up with small gravel. Argyroderma does not like excess moisture, watering is moderate, and in the winter is rare.
During flowering watering should be a little more abundant, adding a weak solution of fertilizer for cacti. With the onset of autumn prefers partial shade lighting, weak — scattered light.
In the winter, maybe even in a dark place, away from light, at temperature not below +8°C. Summer loves bright light but not direct sunlight.
To Argiroderma can propagate cuttings and seeds. Separating the juicy leaf, root it in loose substrate. Rooting can last more than a month. To grow a plant from seed is somewhat simpler.
The optimal time for planting seeds in February-March. You can sow and late fall, but then you have to provide on stairs additional lighting.
A small number of seeds divide into two parts and sow with a difference of 10-15 days. It is recommended in order to ensure proper seed planting.
A month before planting soak seed in the refrigerator. Directly before sowing, you can hold them in a weak solution of potassium permanganate.
Lay seeds on the soil surface every 0.5 cm Sprinkle with sand and cover with a film or glass.
The recommended temperature for germination is between 15°C to 22°C. the First sprouts will appear in a week.
In the summer, crops need to be aired in 2 weeks, opening the glass for 5-10 minutes, gradually adding the time of airing. After another 2 weeks, the protective film can be removed completely.
Keep the sprouts from direct sunlight, spray them daily and ensure that the land remained wet.
Transplant the young plants is recommended no sooner than a year. To this add the proper mixture of sand, perlite and leaf soil. Top fill with quartz sand.
Mature plants can be repotted every 2-3 years. During the week after transplant is not recommended to water the plant.
