Vasily Aksyonov: biography
Vasily Pavlovich Aksenov was born in Kazan in August 1932. At the time of his birth the family already had two grown children: sister Maya, native Basil’s father, brother Alexey – native mother. These are children from the first marriage of Pavel Aksyonov and Yevgenia Ginzburg. Basil began their first joint child.
Parents Vasily Aksenov was intelligent and fairly well-known in Kazan people. Pavel – Chairman of the city Council and a member of the regional Committee of the CPSU. Evgeniya Solomonovna first taught in pedagogical high school, later headed the Department of culture in the regional newspaper.

Personal life of Vasily Aksenov has changed after a meeting with Maya Carmen, the wife of a famous documentary filmmaker Roman Karmen. Maya Feldman called main passion throughout his life. After moving to the U.S. his wife worked as a teacher of Russian language at a University in America.
In January 2008, Vasily Aksenov was hospitalized in a Moscow clinic where he was diagnosed with a stroke. After the operation was conducted in the Research Institute Sklifosovsky expected improvement did not come. The writer has long been in a coma. Constantly nursed by his wife Maya.
In the summer of 2008, as Aksenov was still heavy. In the spring of 2009, Vasily Pavlovich was operated repeatedly in a Scientific Institute named after Burdenko. In July of the same year the writer died. At the time of death Aksenov was 77 years old.
